- Barcoding for quicker delivery
- Same day post office acceptance
- We are up-to-date on the ever-changing USPS regulations
Tip: Most people don’t realize that even Victoria mail is processed in Corpus Christi each night and is supposed to return the next day. Our customers’ mail stays here in Victoria for processing to ensure next day delivery.
Scheduled daily pickup – Our mail route is organized according to location with the purpose of preventing revisiting areas several times a day. Provided that the routes are maintained to support these efforts allows us to keep our service fees economical.
Metering – We use a Pitney Bowes machine called a Paragon. Our first Paragon was purchased over 10 years ago and was the second machine of its kind to be purchased in the state of Texas. Our Paragon has an internal scale, in addition to an external scale, allowing all mail pieces to be weighed in the process of imprinting postage on each piece. The Paragon has an excellent accounting system known as Data Trail Accounting. With each technology improvement on this machine, we have reinvested in each new model through the years. Maintaining and upgrading a Paragon is expensive; however, this allows us to maintain inexpensive prices for our services.
3 to 5 digit sort – This is one of our original services that we offered. The post office uses this process to authorize postal discounts, because each mail-processing step that is completed when they receive mail advances them closer to delivery.
Barcoding – This mail-processing step is one of the services we added about 5 years ago. It works hand in hand with the sorting procedure, but it takes it a step further by placing a unique barcode for mail delivery at the bottom of each mail piece. Every mail address has an exclusive code for it’s exact location beginning with the zipcode down to the specific apartment in a complex. By barcoding mail pieces, a barcode reader can then sort out each piece into sections according to each carrier route.
We have an ES3 manual encoding machine. The USPS has mechanical encoding machines at most major distribution centers in America. The USPS for Victoria County, however, does not have an encoding machine, which is why all mail is routed to Corpus Christi; despite that they do have a barcode reader. Taking advantage of this capability provides quicker delivery of our customer’s mail and increases our postal discounts. Receiving postal discounts allows us to keep our prices affordable for our customers.
